Fuel Tank sending unit float
« on: August 18, 2010, 10:59:28 AM »
Do fuel tank sending unit floats ever get stuck? My fuel gage is reading 3/4 and I have about 1/2 of a tank. If I fill the tank above 3/4 the gage goes to full.

there can be "dead" spots on the resistor that the float's wiper arm swipes against, but also your fuel level on the gage will vary greatly in relation to how the boat is sitting, my 245 sitting on a trailer with the bow up for drainage will show 3/4 tank of fuel, when really only 1/2 full because the floats are near the aft end of the tank...
