Making a parts run....
« on: August 06, 2010, 09:01:25 PM »
Next weekend, 13-14 I am making a run to Ft. Pierce (FL) to visit the folks, just so happens this place is in Ft. Pierce http://themarineconnection.net/ they told me they have some "aquasport" stuff in their inventory.  I have my shopping list of stuff, definitley some Boot stripe (Pete), but I wanted to offer to be the eyes and hands for anyone that might be looking for something specific?  I can bring a camera for shots of something you might be looking for, or whatever.. I'm going, so let me know if I might be able to help?

Pete,
Why not just get the console seat re-upholstered?

I have been dealing with Gary who does Prolines boats. Great guy to work with and will do almost anything you want. If it's doable

Pete,
When I was building them, the seat was all white...I thought it looked better...

Pete,
Does your leaning post backrest have a stripe and logo?  Originally, that was all white too...

leaning post has the stripe too, however it has held up a little better, probably from the t top shading it.That leaning post seat combo is a great idea, was that an aquasport idea?I love how it flips up and becomes a leaning post, very unique.

There is an older man 2 streets over from me, used to work in a shop in town here in Pcola, now he works from his house, recovered my front console seat, leaning post seat and back, $225. labor, I bought the material on Ebay cheap.  It was nice heavy duty pleated marine vinyl.  He did a great job with the trim and piping all along the edges.  I found brand new Coaming pad covers on Ebay from that seller up north "great lakes skipper", they were surplus from Trophy Boats I think, but the same size and dimensions as the AS originals, just need to buy and cut some foam for them, they are plain white, no pleats and have the bead to slide into the PVC receiver piece.  Just checked.... he's got another set..... jump on it....   http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TROPHY-B ... ories_Gear

Actually, Todd Biddison designed that leaning post when he was WC/ACs engineering guru.  Him and Sidney Lanier (now both with Marine Concepts) were 2 of the best in the business.  Sid was our navel architect.  I also worked with both of them when they went up to run Hydra-Sports in '98.  I only stayed 6 mos., came back to AS and Sarasota, Columbia, SC was like moving back to 1950!

Well, I went to the Marine Connection.... Holy %#@&... I spent over 2 hours in there, and could have spent another 2... I was in sensory overload.  They have a substantial amount of AS badging and vinyl, as far as parts like bimini enclosures, seats etc... you have to know exactly what you are looking for because the stuff is just all lumped together, not by MFG or Model.  I am going to be badging my 245 Osprey as a Tournament Edition.  (Pete) They had the same wide vinyl boot stripe color combination as the sample you sent me.  Also, had two of the large TE emblems for the side of the console?  Snagged up a brand new original gold/black TE accessory switch panel, should make a nice plug and play replacement for my black one that is pretty weathered, plus all new wiring, CB's and switches.  The one thing that some on here may be interested in is, they have "several" Yamaha Fuel Management systems, the digital gauge, transducer, and wiring harness... for $295.00  BRAND NEW, I called my Yamaha dealer in Pcola, to check pricing, he told me retail on this is around $1000.00, so out with the POS Northstar F-210, which is all over the place for readings with my HPDI.  Now I just have to figure out how to get some gas money to get from Ft. Pierce back to Pensacola... having fun
