Dual Station Controls?
« on: August 02, 2010, 09:20:09 PM »
Hey guys I have been told a few different ways to do this. I'm trying to run a 1993 Johnson 140HP until I can save up some money to repower. I was told that I need to get a transfer unit and so kind on switch that you can use to change stations. I was also told that you can run cables from one station to the other without the transfer unit but both controls with move at the same time. One other thing that might help in getting help the control that I have are the Morse MT3 Dual lever single function controls. Thanks for the help in advance.

Morse dual lever controls can be modified to dual station use without much trouble.  My CCP cables ran from the motor to the console controls.  Another set of cables attached to the console controls and ran to the upper station.  The spring loaded detent and neutral safety switch were removed from the upper controls.  Yes, the levers on one station move when you move the other station.

A friend of mine has Yamaha single lever controls and dual stations with the transfer box.  I think one just has to ensure that one station is in neutral before using the other.  I got the name and model off of the transfer box and looked it up online.  Suggested list price was $4000.00.
