Having some electrical issues and was wondering what is the best way to tackle a rewiring job.Should I do just one wire at a time?Any diagrams for dummies around?

Mark,
I would recommend making up a harness.  Go to the wiring chart on the Wellcraft page here, http://www.wellcraft.com/#/21/ to get the proper colors.

Now here are 2 diagrams that I have drawn up that, although they don't mimic your boat exactly, give you a basic idea of how the bilge area and helm switch panel is wired...





Obviously you won't have a plug, as the original is part of the old wiring and probably should get tossed, but you really don't need one.

14 gauge should do for most things except the 12v feed and your ground to the bus bars. Don't forget to use heat shrink connectors. That's the key.

Chris is right on the 14GA.  You can get by with 16, but I'll take 14.  The feed for the helm, both hot and ground, should be 8GA.  And absolutely on the heat shrink sleeving...

No Bob,my slip faces Viking.I use to know guys that worked in there years ago.Alot of money in those slips.I couldn't even afford the gas.Nice boats.

Agree with SeaBob on genuinedealz.com.  I just did a major rewire of my 250 CCP and got all of my wires and connectors from them.  Great material....cheap.

Yes, there's a big difference. Marine wire is tinned. In regular wire, the copper is bare and more prone to oxidation. Order 100' of red, brown, and black from genuinedealz.com and you'll be well on your way.
