I was out on my 3rd trip with my recently purchased '04 Osprey 200 this past weekend and wanted to see how the livewell worked. The livewell is located under the bench infront of the console. My buddy and I jigged up some mackerel and had some great action with stripers up here north of Boston. As we were fishing I noticed some water coming out from under the center console where you'd be standing while driving the boat. I opened up the compartment and some water was leaking from the live well. I could find a specific spot but water (not a lot) was streaming down the sides. This week I'm going to recaulk around the fittings and around the top of the livewell. I'm assuming that the livewell shouldn't be leaking like this. It makes me uncomfortable since my battery and electrical connections are in this area under the center console where the leak is occurring. However, I did notice that all around where the center console meets the deck is chaulked except for the front (where the steering and compartment is). Is this so water can drain out if it gets in there?
Anyone ever have this issue? First time boat owner so any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
dan
