Early 90s WACs
« on: May 21, 2010, 10:32:33 AM »
In the continuing  search for information on Aquas, Craigslist, at times reveals hints at the past.

This link shows a 91 230 "Walkaround". This is my boat, two feet longer of course and sporting an IB/OB. The motor box accounts for the cavernous space behind the fuel tank on my boat (and Rick's 92) but the interesting thing is that it appears that Aquasport used the 90/91 model year(s) to transition from the "Express Fisherman" to the "Explorer" via the "Walkaround".

Meaningless to most but interesting to at least one.

How funny I have seen this boat twice coming back from Catalina ,both times we passed about mid channel 14-15 miles.

I really don't see any difference between that 91 and my 92 with the exception of the badge, the engine cover and the fill-in of the transom.  Looks like they "dropped something in" to fill in the transom - would like to see a pic of the back and see if it is solid or looks like it was filled.

Good theory on how the transition went.

I'd bet you're right.
I would think that you could remove that drop in piece for servicing the the forward section of the drive/ rear section of the motor.

Kinda' interesting for two people.
