70-80ft out of Sarasota is a pretty long haul - 25-30 miles? Water looked nice and calm for you though.

80 ft is only about 17-20 mi,100ft that's 30 mi,i was running 32 mph the whole way in, could have done full throttle if i wanted to,that smooth.

Rick i would love to see those pic if you get them, stay safe up there.

John that was one heck of a trip you had,i'm jealous,i used to run out 40 all the time and everyone would limit out on grouper, when it was five apiece, that was great but gas isn't that cheap anymore 3.13 per at my non eth station today, still gonna try and go once a month if it doesn't get much higher, just to pretty out there.

If you are going to go every month maybe I'll shadow you in the 230, if you don't mind. Even though I've been out 15-20 in the 230, I don't like to go too far offshore with only one boat, having only one motor. Much more enjoyable with a safety net.

The pollen up here have almost hit historic levels - tree pollen is up over 4000 - whatever that means.  I was cruising down a neighborhood street and a car backed out of his driveway and it looked a little brown.  When he took off the pollen blew off the car and it left like a brown cloud - almost like dry snow blowing off a vehicle.

Rick i would be more then happy to have you tag along,I'm a strength in numbers guy myself, always like more then one boat to go,my dad often takes his boat when i go out so that would make three of us,and now you also know why i have the kicker motor on the boat to,and seatow goes out to 40 miles.

That pollen sounds like what we have here right now.

Sounds like a plan - I have Seatow and redundant everything 'cept motor, but it's always more relaxing knowing your pals are within sight.

Plus it helps with drift fishing, one boat finds the fish, the others get in line.
