Toggle switch question

I'm replacing the toggle switch for the aft courtesy lights on my 245 Explorer and would like to put a rubber boot on it. My problem is the glass is so thick there that I don't have enough exposed threads on the switch to screw on the boot. I've looked everywhere and can't find a switch with a longer mounting post. 15/32" seems to be the norm. Any help out there guys?

I'll assume this is after you removed the original mounting nuts, both front and back

I asked because that's what I did to get enough threads for mine. I placed a thin washer on the back side of the switch in place of the nut and used the booted nut to tighten the switch down. Make any sense

DOH! I'll toss both switch nuts and just use the boot nut. THANKS!!!
