Not to sway any votes, but my wife and I will be on vacation starting on the 13th staying with my buddy in Wesley Chapel for the week. Skoot and I had already set up for my free ride in the Time Capsule for the 15th! I would really like to meet all you guys and check out your rides. If its on the first two dates I'll miss out again. Just sayin'. Come on 15th!

I did place a vote.  But I think I can make it to any date at this point.  It is a haul for me.  But I normally launch on the manatee river or in palma sola bay.  Thats why I prefer further north.

As a old retired guy the date doesn't matter that much but since I am coming from east coast I wound need to either camp or get a inexpensive room some where that is boat friendly.I tow my 17' aquasport to pine island sound but am not really familiar with the Sarasota area.I will keep reading this post,it would be great fun to hang with other aquasport owners. :fish: Mike

Snapper i know of one hotel ,they rent slips, don't know what the cost is but i will look around, camping out could work, what would you need as far as that goes, would you stay on the boat or need an island to pitch a tent.

C H: Since its a 17' AS I guess I will need a room and a place that rents slips would be perfect.

I'm not sure how that works up there but it's worth a call I guess.
I know that a friend of ours brings his boat in from Sebring and stays at the Holiday Inn at 41 and Clark Rd.  Seems not to have any problems with the boat being in the parking lot and they're never that busy. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?cat=Holiday+Inn+Exp-Siesta+Key&address=6600+S+Tamiami+Trl&city=Sarasota&state=FL&zipcode=34231&country=US&cid=lfmaplink2

Well, now its the brakes on my trailer.  I hate trailers.....

I'm going to try to make this one.  Its only about 2 hours im guessing from here.  Thats only 4 beers, right?

Just drive the boat.  Don't bother with a trailer.  It would take about the same time,  I bet.  Just to drive up the gulf.
