labboss,
Just read your thread on THT.  I don't know what recourse you have, but the "lawyers" over there will start to chime in shortly.

From what I understand, you are in CA.  Do some research (talk to some marina guys), and find a re-builder close to home who has a good reputation, and one you can keep tabs on.  It might cost you a bit more, but considering the headaches you've experienced already, I would say it would be cheaper in the longrun.

Chiefland, FL is not exactly on the cutting edge...of anything! 8)

BTW, just watch your thread on THT, and by all means, STAY ACTIVE IN IT!

They do however have a nice campground/SP (Manatee Springs) but that really doesn't help.    :rabbit:

Man that ranks with that contender thread over there.

I guess these are the times to screw over good people.

My motto is "don't get mad, get even."

Pay 15 bucks, and register the domain name "outboardrebuildscrewedme.com"

Every time the term "Rebuilt Outboards" is searched, you pop-up along with prick-boy.

Shouldn't take long to get your money back, or put him out of business.

No need to spend money for a website, this domain should work just peachy.

PS:

AFTER registering the domain, and you ascertain that it does appear on the search engines: call them and make them aware that is is YOU who owns the domain.

Demand all of your money back, shipping, etc., plus an amount that you feel is fair for the heart-warming experience.

In order to bring suit against you, (defamation, slander, cease and desist, etc. )  he must hire an attorney in YOUR county of residence.....not gonna happen.

Full Disclosure: I am not an attorney, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

That last part is a joke, but the idea is not.

Keep us posted.
