CH,
I assume you mean the cabin overhead.  Yes, You'll find raw glass above it, no big deal.

Mouse fur is a great replacement (google it), just save the stuff you rip out to use as a pattern for the new stuff you put in.  Contact cement is great for overhead installs... :thumright:

Also what do you think about paint or gel coat instead of material on the overhead.

Uhhhh, unless you want a stark cabin and really don't care if it is, have at it...

Me?  I'll go with the fur! :D

Just kinda thinking out loud with the paint, the cabin has just been a hole to throw stuff in for 2-3 years now, and after meeting up with Rick at the gathering, i got the bug to start sleeping in it again. But i got mildew and its just nasty.

So take the time to give her a good hosing down and clean up.  Bleach works good on mildew...but your not unlike a lot of people.  A cabin the size of your's basically becomes an oversized storage bin... :(

Hmmm, I've never had any mildew in the cabin yet     I leave the vent and the side windows open under the cover and leave the door closed so no critters decide to take up home there.
You gotta have it ready to sleep in for the next gathering in May so you can camp the night before and after the gathering with us.  :D

I would test a peice of the carpet with bleach - if it is made from what I think it is, bleach won't hurt it.  A lot of these carpets are made of Polypropylene - same stuff the bottles that hold your pool acid are made out of. Used to be in that business way back when.

Before any thing else ill bleach it again [been there done that] just looking for a better way.

Maybe if the carpet wasn't white it wouldn't bother me as much, not that it's that bad,
i guess i'm just a clean freak.

I keep it vented like you Rick, and still get the mildew, even tried buckets of damp rid.

Thought about a solar powered fan to circulate the air just haven't done it.

Count me in for may.

I've been thinking about cutting some vents into the boat covers for more circulation.  I've seen some vents you can attach to them but haven't really researched it much.  I really need it for the 170 - the cover doesn't breathe very well.
