225 Explorer Faucet

Happy Holidays Everyone,
The faucet in the cabin of my 2002 225 explorer is broken off. I want to relace it. When I removed the old one there were no wires attached to it and it appears that it never had any; but he sticker on the faucet says its a model 94-009-32 12VDC, 3amps max. Does this faucet require 12 volts or was it just used by turning on the fresh water pump and operating manually?

there is pressure switch on the pump that goes on and off as you use water,no wires at the faucet

Bob,
My guess as to your faucet (hey, I left in '00, but it still would be an "educated guess"!!) is that that when you turned on your old faucet, it in turn turned on the pump.  Is there a "Fresh Water" switch at the helm switch panel?  If not, I'd say this was the deal, hence the voltage/amp callouts. The fresh water pump may have also been energized by an Accessory switch at the helm.  Give all the "ACC" switches at the helm a try and see if any turn on the pump.

If the faucet did indeed turn on the pump, than there has to be, or have been, some wiring somewhere nearby.  Pull any access plates or storage compartments in the sink area and poke around.  Let us know the outcome...

You could also have a manual faucet - with the pump on the faucet:

Actually, it usually costs less to do a 12 volt pump with an inexpensive faucet:

Thank for all your replies. As Pete & Bob wrote the pump is powered by the accessory switch. Bob that is the faucet in the picture except mine does not have the 2 wires.

Bob,
Probably what the issue is that Shur-Flo sold the same faucet as the one you have in both the internally switched model and the model that uses a separate switch to turn on the pump, which would be yours.
If you wait a couple of weeks, I can get you either the "Deck Tap" for $30 or the "Folding Tap" for $25.  They both should cover the existing hole you have on top of your galley counter.

So you have to go out and turn the switch on at your dash to go back down to use your faucet. Why didn't they put the switch next to the faucet

Does the pump service other things too? Like fresh water washdown, etc?

Yes there is a fresh water shower in the transom. It was cold here in NY when i got the boat so I have not had a chance to put water in the system and try it.
