Odd?
I guess
but it was used in the 84 catalog so Aqua must have thought it would sell.

Either way, welcome aboard BOATBOY and congrats on a different than most model.

PS.... Work on that Caps Lock key. It appears to need some CRC.

Edit: A CCP with a SP cap.

Welcome aboard BOATBOY  :!:  :!:
We've got a few members with your model - some people call them "dual console" even though there was an actual "dual console" model.
Now all you have to do is blow all the pine needles out and clean her up a bit and she'll be ready for power and fun.

Thank you all for the replys, and so sorry for the cap locks. You have lit a fire under me to start restoration. I fished on this boat with my brother 20 years ago so it has a sentimental attachment. I hope to have it stripped, painted and repowered by mid summer. one question, my brother had always told me that this series of AQ was wood free. But when we pulled the old motor we found a small amount of rotted wood in the center of the transom where the OMC air duct went through. Was that wood free claim refering to the stringers? or was he confused.

Wood free was used to describe the stringer construction.

In your model (as with all models of that era) wood was used in the transom, sole (deck) and various components such as deck covers, console parts and sometimes under the gunwales in the cap area (but not always). It was also used as backing on mounting points such as the "bow ring" (where you attach the boat to the trailer) cleats and various sundry parts. Most of the smaller areas fair well with age with the deck and transom being the areas most often re-built. Members here use various materials to re-build, often extending the life of their boat well beyond the expected life of this Forum.

Good luck and keep posting your progress.

I was in Navarre Fla. for newyears and went to the tackle store. Got to talking to the guy behind the counter and started talking boats. Anyway he goes out with his buddy who has a AS. He told me where it was located and on  the way back to the island went by this guys house. Sitting in his yard was what looked to be a 85 -86 222 Sandpiper. Went back by the store the next dy and told the guy about the site and there was a guy on here wanting info on his buddy's model. He said he would relay the info so maybe he will join in the fun!

Thank you Lewis for the thought, I hope he comes on board. You see so many more center console being restored on this site. And amoung the few duel consoles I have seen, all but one was the common notched transom. My solid transom with the OMC SeaDrive must have been a short run or maybe an expensive option. The guys above sent me a great link that gave me some super information on how this model origionally was set up.I am realy pumped up about getting going. January is our one cold month in New Orleans. When it warmes up in Febuary I will get back on it hard.
Thank you again to all for your help!
