Another question for seabob And the forum
« on: November 24, 2009, 03:25:12 PM »
Hi
I have a 08 215 explorer w a. Did they make a bow pulpit add on for that boat and where would you find one if they don't. I feel like the anchor in that locker would bounce around and cause damage am I wrong? Does anybody have any other ideas or pics of that or any other custom work they did love to see pics. Thanks

Waterman,
What about using a roller such as these that we use at Pro-Line.  Kingston Anchors.  The BR-11 would work nice, and your anchor locker hatch already has a notch for the rode.  You would have to go with split nav lights, no biggie, we use some really sharp white housing Attwoods that I can get you.

Unfortunately, the 215 didn't have a pulpit option.  Any pulpit would be aftermarket or homemade.Teak would be really nice! :D

Bob,
We built a 210 Coastal/215 Explorer in, I don't know, 97-98 or so.  Striped one side as a 210 Coastal, the other side as a 215 Explorer.  You know they are the exact same boat...

9, well, it's next to 0...

BTW, Rick, the triple YF that was running the SKA circuit was Hannon's Cannon, rigged by Pro Marine.  Yam HPDI, Etec, and Opti, and fished the whole '06 season.  I pulled a couple of pics of sites, but Photobucket won't let me upload them to publish.  Weird...

I was talking about the original post saying 08 (see way above).
If the size it too big just post the URL link instead.
I will change the photo size to at least 1024x768 when the new site comes up (IT's still working on it)

Waterman,
This is the roller install on our 20 Express, a boat very similar to yours:

Hope the pic helps.  Any hardware t/bolting and nav light replacement can be done through the anchor locker.

Leave the anchor in the locker.I have the pulpit and it is a PIA to secure the anchor on the pulpit for running.I use a tensioner and a pin lock to keep it secure.I would be much easier to just put it in the locker and go.It is even harder if you have a guest pull the anchor and you're trying to explain how to secure it while driving the boat.Just my .02 :rendeer:

I had the same opinion of the way the anchor that came with my boat sat in the pulpit - an accident waiting to happen !!

I tried to go bigger (same Danforth type) thinking that would help but it didn't so I changed the type of anchor and adjusted the hardware in the pulpit to fit a Plow type:

Much better and once the curve of the plow is past the roller it is snug as a bug....
