Winshield and Fuel Tank Heaven
« on: November 22, 2009, 09:24:52 AM »
Mike needed a new windshield for our 1987 17' aquasport Osprey.  We found a great little company down in Fla.; UPD Plastics.com.  They can make any shield you need at a fair price.  Ask for John.  He's awesome.  Coincidentally, at the same time, we suspected a problem with the fuel tank. Not knowing where to look we asked John of UPD Plastics since he was such a help with the windshield.  He didn't know anyone specifically who could help us with the fuel tank but he recommended this site; ClassicAquasport.com .  We found a guy here who actually found a company name on the actual fuel tank after he took it out himself.  Mike took the chance and sure enough found  company info printed on our tank too.  The info was dated, but gave us enough to find the current company that still makes the original aluminum tanks.  The company, also out of Fla is RDS Manufacturing 300 Industrial Park Dr. PO Box 1908 Perry, Fla. 32348. 1(850) 584-6898.  Just ask for Linda.  Mike ordered  the new tank on 10/27/09 and we had the beauty within a week and a half.  Good price, good quality, and quick.  There are still good people in this world.  Yay!

Well then,
Sounds like you're off to a good start.
Post a few photos, because as you know, your post is useless without pics.

Welcome aboard and yes,
RDS just built my new tank about a month ago also.

RDS has been building our (Pro-Line) tanks for years.  Excellent company to deal with, and respond VERY quickly if there is a problem or a certain need. :thumleft:  :thumleft:

I bought a windshield for an 87 222 Osprey from UPD plastics, it was perfect.

I had cut the windshield in half and sent it to them so I could get free shipping.  The stock shield was broken in 2 places anyway.  They are good.
