small fiberglass repair

have a 98 215 explorer w/a in perfect condition  unfortunately my son and i bumped another boat, neither boat was under power so it wasnt a hard hit but 2 small 1/2" x 1" pieces of gelcoat came off. the glass seems ok, Is there anything i should check  and whats the best way to make the repair   THANKS

Without pics its hard to give advice as there are several different routes you could go.Maybe grind and sand area, and regelcoat, maybe not. Lets see what ya got!
