Looking good  :thumleft:
If you can do it I would plan the batteries inside the console.  You will have enough weight in the aft with the lever effect of the porta and motor 12" back or more.
My $.02

Rickk,

Only 1 battery will be going into the back part, this will be the starting battery and what runs the power pole hydraulic and porta lift hydraulic, the other 5 batteries will be under the center console( 3 batts 36v trolling motor and 2 for electronics).

Yeah, I hear ya. It's a big initial bill, but I am able to switch out all my optima batteries no matter what the time frame if they fail, my last ones lasted 6 years no problem and got replacements free. Nice to have someone in the family who deals them!

rickk-  thank you, would you believe that this paint was rolled on and not sprayed? its true

Mike- i appriciate the complements, means a lot. guess those "how to" fiberglass dvd's i bought worked out well haha

Gran- 140hp would be nice, but there is a beautiful yami vmax 225 ox66 sitting in my garage, sure would be a waste not to use it :)

You might want a chase tube for the fuel line.  If it needs replacing how can you do it once the deck is on?

Gents, Ive been hovering around this site for quite a while and posting drove me to register. I own your boats second cousin, a 20' Proline flatback. It came from Fort Myers and your story is very peculiar to me. I found the boat with a 150 vmax just over 70 hours, t top (wish I had money to burn on a minitower) powerpole. The gentleman I bought it from was a really good guy that knows alot about many things besides boats. He had it completely redone which is where this story goes weird. Had it painted beautifully, new deck, new center console, non-skid matches the smurf blue hull, but there are several soft spots in the floor and they are more due to no being corretly tied into the stringers and bulkheads, than wetspots. I can see 1x 4s between the deck and stringers.  The deck forward of thecenter console dips when you step on it from a lack of support. It has me wondering if this work was done from the same shop you originally took yours to. Fortunatley, and hopefully, what I paid for the boat should leave room for most of the redo.

On a high note, what you have done looks very clean and when mine hits the shop for rebuild number two ( sounds a common theme on this site) I hope to stop in and see this kind of clean thought out work. Also I agree with the Hammerhead comments. I spoke with the gents there, very good guy, and I hope I can swing having them do the work, but their experience comes with a hefty yet honest pricetag. I simply dont have time.  Also, I agreed with someones earlier comments about checking better business, etc. I might add checking the sheriffs website. There is a certain shop in the Tampa area that has a gent with a long history of issues reflected in his business practices... doin my best to be Politically Correct here.

Thanks for the great information shared on this site.

Been trying to get back on this boat, with school full time and work full time its hard to try to fit this thing in, but I have made some progress since last picture posts!

Finished up the sides with the black

Measuring the Porta Bracket to make sure there will be no binding, I then made a template to place on transom to mark out

Mounted the Porta

Installed the Troll n Tab Minn Kota system

Installed 8' power pole pro stealth

Installed the Shodow-Caster 10v2 42 watt LED underwater light system

1/8" Aluminum plate on the inside for the Porta to relieve stress on wood transom

Power pole aluminum plate

New tow Eye in front of boat

Started painting the Bilge areas

Made some good progress. Next step will be to put the boat back on the trailer and mount motor. Then i'm going to fill the boat with fuel, put the floor in the boat not fiberglassed, strap the tower down to the boat with ratchet straps, and float the boat to see how it sits. This will help me determine where everything so go and also allow  me to see where I should position the batteries, etc. Im thinking I may have to put the batteries in the front of the boat since there is so much weight in the back and since I eliminated the front step up? We shall see when I float her!
