Gel coat cracks?
« on: November 05, 2009, 06:52:58 PM »
I here alot of comments suggesting not to worry about gel coat cracks, but will they eventually lead to problems and is it hard to repair them?
Thanks

MD,
Where are your cracks, and how wide are they?  Chances are, you have some in your splashwell radii, as well as maybe around the bowrail bases.

Yes Bob, and also around the t-top legs. The areas seem very solid just alot of hair line cracks that resemble a spidering crack in a car windshield. I have brushed over the cracks with Capt Tolley's Creaping Crack Cure (got it at West Marine) seems to be like a poly. sealant of some kind.
