Thru Hull Scuppers

1997 245 Osprey.  Looking to replace the port side thru hull scupper, original is plastic, during the overhaul I was thinking of dressing her up and going stainless, if my arms were about 3ft longer I might be able to reach the spanner nut on the backside... but Mr. Elasto I'm not.  I'm thinking "pie-plate" anybody been here before?  Bob.... your advice on the starboard side was great about removing the tackle center insert, pretty good room after that, but not much on the port side..

I just happen to have some Orcas Stalon t/hulls, 316 SS cap on an acetal resin body, slightly used but in excellent shape, off a 29 Express we just built a new hull for.  All have backing nuts, several 1 1/2"s (for cockpit scuppers), 1 1/8" (bilge pumps), 1" and 3/4" sizes as well.  Get the look of all SS for a fraction of the cost...God, do I sound like a salesman?  Let me know if you're interested.  This is what they look like:

Definitely interested, how do you get a stainless cap and composite body? Sounds like the cap is bonded somehow to the body, doesn't sound like it would be as strong as one-piece construction?? I just went out and checked, and this is what I have, this is just measuring the opening ID from the outside faceplate so the actual size may be off slightly??
3 ea 1-1/2" (2 deck scuppers, and 1 livewell drain)
3 ea Looks like 1" but may be the 1-1/8" you mentioned (2 up forward port and starboard for fish box drains, one aft, stbd side, bilge pump.
1 ea looks like 3/4", port side aft, fish box pump out (yeah... right, gotta fix that also, holds rainwater great). I am assuming all are barb fittings? Maybe you can confirm if I have 1-1/8 or 1" for these 3 that I am not sure about??

We actually cut the Orcas and Premier Products Stalon t/hulls cross-sectionally, to see how the cap was attached.  The cap is placed in a mold, with ridges on the underside.  Then, as the acetyl resin is poured in the mold, it fills the ridges, thus is virtually impossible to pull apart.  Proline uses these t/hulls on all boats 26' and larger.

This is what I have:

(5)  1 1/2" straight                             1 3/4" hole size
(2)  1 1/2" 90s                                   1 3/4" hole size
(2)   1 1/8" Straight                            1 3/8" hole size
(2)  1" 90s                                            "              "
(3)  3/4" straight                                  "              "
(2)  3/4" 90s                                        "              "

As I said, they came off a Proline 29 Express, so they have been installed, but are still in excellent shape.  $8 per, plus $5 shipping.

They really are in excellent shape, and a WHOLE lot cheaper than all SS, at a fraction of the cost.

Yes,
that is always good... It was so damn cold up here (Pensacola) this past weekend, I had to wait until late morning to get out and work on the boat, and that north wind cut like a knife... I'll let you know on the thru hulls.  Thanks
