Set out for a day of fishing in the Gulf about 20 miles off shore. Looking forward to catching some large grouper and snapper in about 40 - 70 feet of water when about 2.5 miles from the Edison reef my motor starts choking. I see the pump bulb compressed knowing then the motor is fuel starve. I empty the fuel/water seperator sight bowl of some small debre and clena it then reinstall. Pump the bulb and no fuel (full tank). I pull both lines from the seperator and attempt to suck fuel from the tank line with resistance and could not draw anything through the fuel line. Needless to say I fished for three hours waiting to be towed back to the ramp. Thank God for Boat US tow insurance!! Thought I would never use it. Ten hours from home to back home and never made the reef! Did catch a few black tip sharks and a couple undersize grouper but not what I was after. Anyway! Plugged fuel line? Something pluged at the tank? How do I get to the fuel line at the tank? Replace fuel line all the way to the motor? I am replacing the fuel seperator filter. Any suggestions? I have a 1986 20' Osprey.
