Joined the club of 222's but have some questions

Hey Everyone.
I'm finally in the club of Aquasport lovers again. I owned a 222 cudy about 10 years ago and sold it. (Kick myself). Well, I just picked up another 222 cudy (I think it a Family Fisherman)but this one is the semi v and not the deep v I use to have. Also, this one was a i/o and has been fitted with a Armstrong plate on it. I picked this up for a hobby boat. I'm going to gut it out and and awgrip the whole thing.
This is a great site and look forward to having a bunch of questions.
Right now I only have a couple.
On my last A.S. deep v I had a 235hp rude and I am hoping to get by with a 150 yamaha (2 stroke)with the semi v. I want a 8hp kicker as well. I know weight is a big issue so anyone out there with some ideas or concerns. I'm not looking to win any races, just want to do some fishing and at least get up on plane.
The armstrong plate is a older model (Stainless) but very strong. It doesn't have the extra flotation.
Thanks everyone

Welcome aboard Tosty :!: :!:
I'm not aware that they changed the deadrise on the FF. Is it possible that you had a FF before and now have an Explorer or Express Fisherman (EF)?
We need years of these boats (the one you owned before and after), any plate or stamp on the starboard outside transom of the latest? And as Capt Bob says - this post is worthless without pics.

The new boat is a 78 and I can't remember the old one. I will have pictures soon with numbers.
Thanks

I went through all the steps with photobucket but when I submit it just tells me that my picture is bigger than 640x480. I changed it in pb but it just doesn't work. When are the IT's going to finish the big fix.

When you changed it in PB to 640x480 did you save over the old one so you're sure that you're copying the correct code? Should work no problem.
All I know about the repair issue is that they're working on it.

Rick
Thanks for the help. I just didn't save in that format.
Well, I'm in the process of taking everything apart. The gas tank was hard. The cover had been left open and rain water got in. The past owner left the gauge off and the water got in and filled up the tank. I'm planning on welding up a forward tank in the cuddy to offset some weight and use the previous area for storage.

Gas tank more forward is a great idea. :)
I have a 19.6 FF and have installed a 30 gallon tank just forward of the old tank and about 18" into the cuddy area. MUCH better weight distribution. The old main tank always made the boat heavy in the back end.
So, I don't even bother filling the back tank anymore.
IMHO, A 200 HP motor would be perfect for that boat, a 150 would just get by.

I think your right about the 200hp but I'm a little nervous about the weight of a 200 and a 9.9 kicker in the back end.
