Well I don't know about the atlantic ocean, but the I can say the old FF series holds up very well in the Pacific Ocean!
I have a 79 19-6 FF and I do nothing but fish in ocean waters from 10-25 miles from port. They are very seaworthy.
Just understand, go the speed that the ocean lets you go, don't try and reach mach 1 or you will beat yourself and your boat up!
