New Hull Color - Consensus
« on: July 20, 2005, 08:59:54 PM »
I have narrowed down the color of my new hull on my '77 22-2 to "Flag Blue" (deep dark blue) and "Aqua Mist" (very light turquoise).  The lighter colors enhance the lines of the boat and allow me to put an all black rub rail on.  I think the dark blue would be awesome and unique but also like a mirror showing all imperfections very clearly - and I think I'd have to go with the stainless rub rail to define lines better.

What are you thoughts?

Ford or Chevy?

I would go with the lighter color.  Dark is pretty but shows everything and is too hard to keep looking nice.  Dock rubs and such will really stick out on the dark color where they would be hard to find on a light hull.  $0.02

I went to awlgrip.com and clicked on "colours" for their selections.  I also emailed them and requested 3x5 swatches of colors I thought I'd be interested in.  They were mailed to me within 5 days.

I have not found any dark blue pictures - I am leaning toward the lighter color for reasons like Jones stated.

I'd go lighter.  Easier to maintain.

I am partial to lighter with the darker legends and names. Makes them pop more on the hull.
