The forward pump was an option, but all the panels got the switch.  So instead of the "Bridge to Nowhere," you have the "Switch to Nothing."

You want a bilge pump discharge to be fairly high, and usually sink and cooler outlets are too close to the water line for a bilge pump.  I think when the factory installed the front pump, they cut through the stringer to run the hose, then up between the liner and the hull.  You probably have foam in that area, which complicates the situation more...  :x

I see 2 options:
1.  Run the outlet hose forward to the bow area and have the outlet near the nose of the boat.
2.  Run the hose back toward the stern and put the outlet near the transom.  Bad news there is a very long bilge hose run - not a good practice.

Hope this helps - see ya on the water!

Hi

There's one 250 XF more.
As I see in this forum this is a relatively rare boat, so perhaps it's the only one in Spain or in Europe.
I bought it 6 years ago, I like it, the only trouble I had were some issues with the motor.
Now I'm nearly an Evinrude specialist.
As I want to navigate and not to work as mechanician last week I changed the old thirsty Evinrude 155 for a Suzuki 225.
Wow what a difference !! Faster (from 30 to 41 mph), quieter, and I think less than half of fuelconsumption.

Here some photos:

Welcome to the site SK!  Nice looking XF - and it's great to hear from another European Aquasport owner.   :salut:

I think you will like the Zuki 225 - everyone I know who has one has been very happy.

OK you XF'ers. I've got one too (250). Currently getting an enclosure on it, when it is done I will get some photos out. Interesting to see other ones like it with the suttle differences, in particular, the beautiful blue paint (lol).

Here's a thought - now that you see how it fits and looks, take the front panel back to him and ask him to put a zippered "U" in it so you can install the panel and then unzip it - you'll love it and wonder why he didn't do it in the first place.  If it is even a bit rough out I install the helm glass on 3 sides, then roll up the sides and unzip the flap in the front (it lays inward) - now I'm ready for the worse.  It's super to be able to quickly zip up the front panel if the spray starts coming over the front.
You can see the front panel in this pic:

Reeldrag,
Rick is absolutely correct.  That way, to get airflow over the windshield, you don't need to remove the connector, just unzip it...

While you're at it, have them install straps and snaps so you can roll it up and secure it...Sorry Rick, just don't like it "laying there"...

The unzipped panel is not as long as the windshield is high, so it hangs there out of the way.

Hey everybody,

I am new to this site and last year was my first year boating. I ended up getting a 25 foot family fisherman walkaround for free. The best part was that the motor only had 20 hours on it. Toward the end of the first season we got a bad storm and I ended up getting a hole punched into the side about 18 inches above the water line. My dad and I reglassed it and it ended up turning into a full restoration.

We used all Interlux paint and painted the hull gray and the top white. I am currently flush mounting all my electronics into my electric box that I will hang on the hard top and then turn my attention to the helm that I bought all new gauges and rocker switches for.

I truly think this will be my first and last boat. This thing go's through the water like a tank I LOVE IT. I have yet to see another  1987 25ft  Aquasport XF with an IO. Mine is powered with a 5.0 Merccruiser.

I was trying to post pictures but for some weird reason it wont allow me.

O yeah I named her "Big Pappa  :bigsmurf:  Smurf"
