the boat is an 87 model, i only have 1 bilge switch on the console other than the lighting switches all i have is: bilge, bower, washdown, wiper, and acc switch that i have yet to figure what it works,

Is the bilge switch a double throw?
On my 84 it is and runs the rear pump and the live well (because I wired it that way).
So it's on when pushed in at the top, off in the middle and on again when fully depressed on the bottom. I'm assuming you have a "rocker type" switch.

Hey I just purchased a 1983 246 xf over the winter. I just repowered it with a suzuki df300 and also did a few other upgrades. The plan is to completely restore it although the hull is in pretty darn good shape so moslty cosmetics. Only ran her for a couple of hours yet but so far I love it. Before this boat I owned a mako 258 cuddy and as good as the mako rode so far the aquasport handles better. I tried to post some pics but couldnt figure it out maybe I'll give it another try. Anyway i know it's not the same exact year model but they may be very similar.

Thanks. As far as the 300 hp Im not sure yet still breaking it in and waiting for the right prop, the prop was way off. It did hit 41 mph briefly and that was with the prop beeing way off so It should see alot higher. I know the 250 hp would have been fine for me I just happened to find a better deal on the 300. As far as the bait well Im basicly going to make one in one of the storage boxes I'll let you know when I plumb it.

COOOOOOOL :salut:

Welcome Bass Monkey!!! I am so glad I started this thread, I feel like I am getting my own little family started here... sniff sniff,,, :smurfin:  It makes a mama proud.

Love the '83.. bassmonkey,,, That 300 should do very well for you.  With right prop, and a glassy day I got 42mph out of mine with the 250 yamaha, that was more than enough speed for me.. we have had a little trouble with trim tabs, the hubby says if we ever get them "perfect" we should hit 45 or better.

Hook'd... still waiting for your pics... c'mon its not that hard....

Man... that's a tough one.  I LOVE my C/C, but I also LOVE W/A's.  I've actually been debating whether or not I should buy a WA.  The best way to go is to have both.  I'm trying to talk a good buddy of mine into getting an 03' Key West W/A from pops and promising my help with it so I can kind of have both to use.

If only money grew on trees...
