I'm just telling her to eat a light breakfast. I forget what they call them, but you can get something like a Bimini top for the front that extends into a tent. I wanted to get one for rough weather anyways. The T-Top is a bit small.

In a remote area of course.  But when you gotta go, you gotta go!

A dodger in the front would work, you could also use it for camping.  Make sure to teach her how to empty it at the end of the day.

The girl...NO!

After all this talk I am starting to lean towards a cuddy cabin myself.

I'll post pictures this weekend.  :D

DB  this has been a fun thread, ... sadly much of our fun has been at your girl's expense..hope she has a sense of humor.

But if you are seriouslythinking about a cuddy cabin, I am FAR from an expert, but I will share what I have learned with mine. (you may already know as much or more than I do, If you do, just ignore my ramblings)

I love my cuddy cabin!!  especially when night fishing, if the fish aren't biting we find a nice safe place to anchor and go below for a little nap.  Not to mention all the extra LOCKABLE storage.   But a few things to keep in mind. I think Most cuddy's are still not going to have a full working head, it will still be a porta potty unless you get into the real big $$$ boats.  but the cuddy does provide some extra privacy.

Those cabins can get pretty hot during the day time so if you do get a cuddy and want to use the cabin for napping during the hot summer days you will want to invest in a power inverter,($50- $100) an extra battery and a fan.. it still wont keep it really cool but it does help. we carry 3 batteries, 2 for starting and running the boat itself and one just for the power inverter, to run fan's, extra lights, coffee pot.. all the comforts of home.  (or you could go with a generator, but be VERY CAREFUL with that, generators can be dangerous on a boat)

If you are thinking about using the cuddy for foul weather keep in mind, any bounce and roll you feel topside you can at least double that in the cuddy.  The closer you are to the water the more you feel the roll of the waves. So if your girl (or anyone else on board) has a tendency for seasickness dont send them below to lay down in rough seas.  :puker:

and fnally the ABSOLUTE BEST ADVICE I can give you is this :  Take your girl with you before you make another purchase.. make sure she will be happy this time.  If mama aint happy NOBODY is happy.

Here is a funny/sad part to the equation. I picked up a trailer for this boat on an add that said comes with free boat. The boat that was on it was a 22' Aquasport cuddy cabin (mid 80's) with a blown Yamaha and needing a gas tank. I have a retired friend who I usually store boats and trailers with. He fell in love with the boat as soon as he saw it. I couldn't help but give it to him since he has always been helpful to me and a good friend.

But that's OK. I'm sure I will come across another one soon enough.

Hey DB,  Not sure what part of the world you are in, or how much $$ you have left to spend,  but in another thread I was talking about not seeing many Express fishermen around,  Rickk advised to to revise my google search,  I did and still not a whole lot of boats like mine out there but I did locate a couple that might be worth checking out,,   One is in St Augustine, FL.. the other is in VA .. I know it is scary to purchase a boat without seeing it in person but I was amazed at how cheap shipping is for something like that.

even if the motors are shot you might be able to use the one you have now and sell the other boat as a hull..

Nice 246 XF on eBay - only $2900 in New York - needs a trailer, so add $2500 for a new trailer - still a great deal:
