New to the board
« on: May 13, 2009, 06:25:14 PM »
Hi,

I am new member form Atlanta, GA although I have been reading the board for a while.  I am the proud owner of a 1969 22' Flatback with Evinrude power.

I have made a few minor improvements to the boat (windshield, interior paint, switch panel, trolling motor etc.) but have been dreaming of the day that I can do (or have someone else do) a complete rebuild.  The boat was purchased from a gentlemen's widow so I am not certain what he did to the boat but from what I can tell the deck was replaced and possibly the transom??

I look forward to contributing to the board and learning from the experts.  I will try to snap a few pics of the boat.  The boat is primarily used for fishing on Lake Lanier (north of Atlanta, GA) for landlocked stripers.  I am going to post this request in the classifieds section but I am in the market for a trailer in good shape.  Please send me some info. if any of you have a trailer you will part with.

Taylor

Welcome!!! Glad to see another Aquasport on Lake Lanier.  This makes at least 3 confirmed if not four on the Lake.

200 ccp
19-1  (trying to get him to join)
and now a 22-2 flatback

I know there are a couple of you near the area, just not sure which lake you run on.  Maybe we should make a North Georgia Aquasport round up.  Little better drive for the guys out of the north and the carolina's.  Just a thought...

I think that is a great idea! I just got a 'new' old trailer off of craigslist. Needs work but for 500 I couldn't pass it up. Can you say cocktail cove? :joker:

Welcome & congrats! I am the proud owner of a 1968 flatback (& have been for 26 years). It is a great boat, but, don't ask too much from it. The flat bottom works great under a light load & will float in 8" of water. Couple of people & some stuff & you are good!
