Nice!  Make sure you post those on the 19-6 thread.

What kind of performance did you get w/ the 112hp?  These boats aren't very fast as it is...

it topped around 28 mph with 2 guys, 8 gal. of gas, some trim, and on a 1 ft chop... takes a good bit of time to get up on a plane. deff gonna start looking into a 150 later this year

Hmmm... I was going faster than that w/ much more gas and fat guys in the boat with a 90HP.  (33mph WOT on the GPS)

Do you know what pitch prop you're running?  Kind of confusing, because if you're taking a long time to get on plane, you'd think your pitch would be higher, but then your Top End should be higher than 28mph.  Do you know for sure that your engine is running right?

I would say, if your engine is running right, and your prop pitch is right, you should top out around 35mph w/ that 112hp.  A 150hp would probably only get you up to around 45mph WOT.  ( I run right at 42.2 mph GPS w/ the 140hp w/ a 21" prop @ 6000RPM)

If I could change anything about these 19-6's, it would be a planing chime that ran the length of the hull all the way to the stern instead of one that stops just after the prow (which is completely useless).  There's just so much hull in the water when you get up and run, and all that drag makes for a slow boat.

gps showed 28.8... but i dont completely believe it... ill try tomorrow with my dads hand-held and see what the numbers are... i think its running around 32, it does feel slightly faster than our AJ that runs 29.9 on gps... prop is 13-1/2x17 and runs right at 5300 rpm, i believe the specs are 5200-5600 rpm

Yea... it probably feels slightly faster because its a smaller boat.  It's hard to fool a GPS, they all talk to the same satellites :) .

With a 17" prop, you should have no trouble popping out of the water w/ that motor.  My dad used to sell these boats when they were new (19-6's and 200 Ospreys w/ 112 "special") and he's telling me that you should be doing 36-38mph w/ that setup.

Probably something wrong w/ your motor...  :(

im still not trusting that gps, it says im only going  5mph when im half way up on plane, and looses signal every minute. i could be doing 35 mph, i guess it just seems slow cuz ive been on my buddies flats and bay boats that runs 65 WOT more times this year than my own boats lol.

what mounting height where most of them at? mine is lowest it can go... im thinking about raising it up a hole or 2

Try second hole down, maybe third.  The key is to have the cav plate at the water's surface while on plane.

As Bad... said, the prop is equally important.

Beautiful boat!  Built more than my fair share.  150?  Hey, I worked on an old Mako 17 in Tarpon that ran a 150.  Your Osprey will handle it quite nicely!

the cav-plate is almost parallel with the keel right now, almost every o/b i see at my work is at least an inch above the keel. im gonna take it out later today and play with the settings and what not

well i got it out on the water today and reached 27.5 knots on my hand-held gps, so about 31.6 mph... i raised the o/b 1 hole and it seems to help with the planing, i dont get as much bow rise as i did before.

i did catch a nice size flounder though, first one ive ever caught! lol

Jessie,
Not yet.  We've got orders (commercial included), but financing is quite a different ballgame than the pre-meltdown days.  They actually want companies to be ACCOUNTABLE for their performance!  Imagine that! :drunken:
