1985 Brochure - Sorry for posting on the wrong forum!
« on: July 12, 2005, 08:36:01 AM »
Hey, Steved:
Please disregard this same posting on the website issues forum...
When I bought my 1985 OSprey 170 the original owner gave me all the  documentation he had from the time he got the boat.  This included a brochure.  I´m not sure if it is a 1985 or 1984 brochure, or if they were all the same during those years.  Do you have this one in your collection?
Just to make sure, on the page were the 170 is shown, there is a picture on the lower left corner showing those neat transom boxes.  Just like the ones Deck Daddy has, but factory built, I guess.......
If you don´t have it, let me know, so I can scan it and post it or send to you.
Adios.

I don't think we have that one - the image that you refer to doesn't correspon to what I have or have uploaded on the site.  Love to have scans but don't know if you want to mail it to me in Italy with the risk of long-distance mail two ways. If you can scan it, or have someone do it for you and then post it, that would be great!  Make sure the scans are high res enough to permit good quality printing for someone who wants to download them - like me!

Also, I am taking the point about identifying the images so that they can be searched by keyword.  That means putting in the relevant model or models in the keywords as well as the date, if you know it.  I will be going back and editing all of the previous photos I uploaded to do that. Maybe other members will start to as well. Then we will really have something.

I uploade a bunch of old ads today. Some are really fun.

I´ll try and post them soon.  The whole brochure consists of "fold-away" pages, so I guess I´ll scan them and join them with PhotoStitch.  That way, you´ll be able to see the complete pages as they were in the catalog.  Page size is about 11x17".
I just need to find some time for this........

I posted 15 images on the Advertisements folder.  They correspond to a 1985 AS catalog.  Some of the pages were foldouts, so any of you that are tech inclined may download them and join them for printing.  They are numbered in order, so you know which two images go together.
I´m sorry about the quality of the catalog, but the original owner had it folded in a drawer, under a pile of books.  If you look closely you will see little pieces of tape used to joim the pages.
I especially like the transom boxes that were an option on the Osprey 170.  I wish I had them on my boat.....
Have fun looking at them!!

Great addition to the collection Miguel!  And there are great little nuggets of information to be gleaned - for example the confirmation that Osprey was the name Aquasport associated with the original 22, 19-6 and 17 foot open center consoles (not the flatback but the ones designed by Walt Walters).
