« on: May 04, 2009, 06:53:48 PM »
Ive been reading the site off and on for a while, I was looking for a  @26 foot center console and after reading  the posting about  aquasports on ebay  I found a 245 Osprey, Long story short, I made the trip and bought the boat.
Ive been looking for a while and couldnt pass up on the deal.  thanks for the info

PS its a 97 245 osprey.  decent shape but will need one of the lower units replaced ( has no reverse).

Thanks for posting pic!  Thought I had another day to work on the boat before the snow started.

I look forward to getting this boat on the water this spring.   Only got to put it in the lake once and the  counter rotating motor blew.  something caused the oil injection system to stop working!  Now im back to premixing oil. Never really had time to check the rest of the boat out.

Im found a standard rotating evnrude 150 that im putting on.

The last boat I owned was a dusky 26 cc with twinn standard rotating motors and never really had a problem, but Ive never driven a boat with counter rotating motors so really dont know how it is susposed to handle.  It was a Late 80s boat motor combo.

Any problems with this type of setup?

Thanks
Kevin

KB - you will like the counter-rotation because it makes steering at power much easier.  No more high-effort left turns - I know hydraulic steering makes it easier, but counter-rotation still works better.  Counter-rotation also makes a better wake and gets the boat on a plane easier.  Looks like you've got a nice boat there - congrats!

Where are you located?  Looks like we are developing a good group of NC Aquasports - we've got folks in Wilmington, Greenville, and some in SC around Charleston.  Maybe we could plan a Carolinas Aquasport meeting - anybody up for that?

See ya on the water!

See if you can beat our high of 9 boats - our family outings are spreading

Our next gathering will be around 1st week of May and will be in Sarasota again.  Hopefully the weather gives us a break this time - 15-25mph wind last time.

Twice in each place... - so Nov will be somewhere else.  I looked south and couldn't find a place to keep my truck/trailer secure for a few days.  Found plenty of ramps (easy since I found the google-earth addon) but not much storage facilities.  I'll keep looking.
