I realized my previous HIN ended in 0 which is incorrect.  Ill check the registration later but I believe it should be HIN ASPE0534M73C.

I've recently purchased a 1976 Aquasport 196 HIN#: ASPE1666M76D

I've been using way too much data reading all the great info here and yet undecided whether I'm just going to shoot a couple of soft spots with resin throw a cheap tower on with controls up top only, for Cobia Season coming up in three weeks through mid May or go ahead and start gutting it for a total restore. If I  rig it to fish asap will do the restore this summer or more likely next winter. If I can scrap up the $ for a quick simple tower and controls I'll be slaying the Cobia come April.

well, it can't get too calm to scare me...

new to me 1985  200. I have been wanting to restore a boat for a long time and finally took the plunge. I like early hulls and these boats where built for the exact water I live in on the gulf coast. so it was a no brainier. I already have a 27 ft two screw center console and wanted a smaller boat for lobster and scallop snorkeling fun days . I was looking at 175's but ran up on this 19'6. I waffled a bunch on if it was too big but really I think maybe not. The old gal is a wreck but should be fun to work on. It has a lower hour 1998 EFI 150 Mariner that purrs nicely. I'm concerned it's a bit heavy for the boat but see others out there with motors like this. Time will tell It also fits the bill for me having an older hull with a newer type power plant on it. I'm hoping its a good power to weight ratio and I know those Merc. / Mariner motors of those years are relay good reliable engines. I had thoughts of a 175 with something like the mid 2000's year Johnson 115 two strokes 4 cylinder deals. great power with lower weight. I will post some pics as I tear into her.

I just picked up a (free) 1976 19-6. Hull number is ASPF1579M76B. It is in pretty good shape considering it has not been registered since 1993. The previous owner passed away. I am going to fix it up a little bit and hopefully enjoy it. The Johnson 115 V4 on it needs a lot of work. I am thinking I will simply replace it with a similar vintage outboard.

I just brought home a 1973 19-6.  Not sure if there is a hull number but it has the original plate that says Serial No. E465.
Needs some work but looking forward to a complete restore.

Just bought a 1973 Aquasport 19-6 Center console with a Volvo Penta 3.0 GS inboard. Pretty stoked!

HIN: ASPD0695M731

Haven’t seen one quite like it...Family Fisher? Not sure what the actual model name is just going by the title info. Didn’t come with any original manuals. It seems to be in excellent shape considering the age, I would love to make it like new so any info/ advise on part sourcing or the like would be supremely appreciated. Will post pics as soon as I figure out how to

Welcome aboard Markus  :welcome01:

She does appear to be in great shape. Is it an inboard or I/O?  Can you post more pix? Pix of the aft end?
