New member and owner of a 222 CCP

i bought a 1979 22' aquasport 222 ccp last year. the bottom of the boat is good shape. the bottom paint is chipped, but there are no cracks. the fiberglass on the top of the transom was cracked so i took the fiberglass off until i got to the wood and then put new fiberglass on. i have no idea what kind of shape the gas tank is in. the only soft spot in the floor is that insert in the middle of the deck that goes from the back to  under the center console, besides that the deck is solid. the boat has a 2000 envinrude ficht 200 motor. there is a pro hijacker on the motor with makes it stick out about 6 more inchs off the boat. water sit in the transom area with i do not like, is this common for this style boat or is it because of the extension? any help or advice would be much appreciated

First, welcome aboard to a new CCP owner.
Next, snap some pictures of her and post to the topic Aquasport CCP in Discussions.  It's about the 25th post halfway down on the first page in Discussions.  Hardwater is the author... to whom we CCP owners are forever indebted.  He's the one who started cataloguing the CCP's.  
Next, next... check out the CCP's on that post.  They are sa-weeet!

That "insert in the middle of the deck that goes from the back to under the center console" is your fuel tank cover.  You may want to remove it for repair and check out the fuel tank while you are at it.  Remove the screws around the base of the console.  If your 222 has the fish box on deck, you can remove this so that you can slide the console forward (careful with the wiring and steering linkage) or raise the console on 2 x 4's.  Then you can undo the tank cover screws and carefully pry up the lid.
Now, check out some of the other posts on this site on how to repair the cover and check out the whole bunch of posts on fuel tank removal, repairs, pics, vendors, etc...  You're going to be just fine!  AND, you are just going to fall in love with that boat!  Good luck and other CCP owners will jump in to help.  It's usually like a feeding frenzy of replies when a CCP comes up.

but... to get the cover off you have to have a buddy tilt the cc from the port side and help you feed the cover out. It didnt fit to pull it straight back out on my 200ccp. im in the process of doing a partial restore to my cover. here is the link...

If you mean water sits in the corners where the drain holes are, then yes.
Get some drain plugs (expandable rubber with brass lever) at your local marine shop (get the right diameter) and insert them in the drains.
Remove them while underway and replace them when you are sitting still or launching the boat.
Works like a charm.

Oh and my motor sits 26" beyond the stock transom and they work just fine.

They also make scuppers with one way rubber flaps in them. The best ones are " TH Marine Recessed Threaded Thru-Hull Scupper". The flaps cover the inside of the openings. They look really good and discrete. I had the same problem on my 200CCP when i had a 225hp strapped on the back. Its a pain in the a$$ to change out the scuppers but im glad i did, not only because it fixed the problem, but because both scuppers were loose! No wonder my bildge was always wet.
I tried the drain plug thing first. It works but its a pain. These fixed it.

Well my setup is a full platform with motor flotation. This helps with the extra weight moved further to the rear of the transom. I don't think you have flotation with the jack plate.
Are your batteries still located on each side of the transom well? Moving them forward (under the console) will also help.  

Anyway, I just install the plugs before I launch and leave them in all day.
Exiting the water from the platform dumps much of the water into the transom well, so it's no big deal if the plugs stay in.

If it rains, well then you pull them out.
If you somehow manage to get a lot of water on the deck, just remove them while you're underway and the deck drains very quickly.

It's a PITA to change out the bottom thru hull drains but you may want to inspect/replace the hoses between the deck and hull anyway. An extra pair of hands helps a lot.

i plan to paint the top part of the boat soon. ive got some white marine paint. i do not have a spray gun so what method would be most effective? any advice would be great thank you!

a friend of mine has those scuppers, they are for the deck and they work great. i dont know if they would work for the transome.

Only problem with the pingpong ball scuppers is they do not handle ANY kind of trash. One piece of pine straw or any thing will defeat the design.
