new member question on transom upgrade

This is a spec sheet from approx '78 on the FF model and it's saying 230hp Max and if they even had one that big back then, that was a lighter 2 stroke.  You'll get better HP at the prop from any new engine regardless of it being 2 or 4 stroke - I'd just be leary of the weight.  A 250 is exceeding the HP rating plus it's very heavy - a double barbed hook.  Won't be the first time nor the last but ......
