Good job on this thread Hardwater  :thumright:   Looks like the 200 CCP is leading the way    This is ironic considering how rare the 200 CCP is compared to the 222 CCP.

If you get right down to it, these CCP'S are almost identical.  The only difference I have seen is the 222 weighs 300lbs more than the 200, the 222 has the cooler on the coffin box where the 200 does not.  Other than the extra 2' for the 222, this is basically the same boat.

Hell, just replace it with Starboard and your troubles are over. It's just that these old CCPs look really good in their teak trim. :thumright:

Good luck whatever you use.

What is the Starboard product you and others are commenting about.  It appears to be a covering for the teak so you no longer have to deal with the maintenance of teak.  Is this the case and, if so, where can I learn more about it.

Thanx

Here's a start http://www.deepbluemarine.com/products-view.cfm?CategoryID=6

Goggle "Starboard marine products" and you'll find more than you ever wanted to know.
They (or any classic AQ model) looks, IMHO great when the teak is cleaned and treated.
Aqua didn't use the finest teak the world offered but it always added a nice touch and there's products out there these days that cut way down on maintenance and still look natural.

Check out some of the rebuild forum. There was some pics of a member redoing his and for me, it's a lot nicer looking than Starboard.
If you hate working on teak though, Starboard is the answer.
Arrrrr.

I would leave the teak.  I have just finished using the sikken cetol and it is easy to apply and leaves a great look.  I will add some new pics soon showing the progress.

I used Sikkins on my teak with the clear shiny topcoat.  Still looks good over a year later.

Been wondering that, too - there's definitely more than 7 out there!

The list so far (w/info provided) covers 3 models from 1978-1989:

kaptainkoz              1978      200 CCP   ASPP0160M78F

allen456              1979      200 CCP   ASPP0226M79A

GoneFission      1980      22-2 CCP   ASPA0345M80I

jdupree         1981      200 CCP   ASPP0590M81D

Capt. Bob              1984      222 CCP   ASPA0492M84E

Hardwater              1986      222 CCP   ASPA05951586

DOCREED              1989      250 CCP    OUA 23007A989

From the examples so far, the CCPs are wearing the years very well :D .  Four of the seven listed were built between 1978 and 1981 - hulls in use for 28-31 years (barely 'teenagers' compared to the earlier flats fishing hulls - but still good) :!: .

Those listed include 2 with transom brackets (DOCREED and Capt. Bob - one OEM and one aftermarket?) and 3 representing color gelcoat options (jdupree - Tahitian Tan; DOCREED and Capt. Bob - Pearl Grey) - none so far in the Nightwatch Blue.  Nightwatch Blue and Pearl Grey - along with Ivory Mist - were the color names in use by AS in the 1980 brochure.   I didn't find the Tahitian Tan referenced in the brochures on the site (doesn't mean it isn't, I just didn't find it) but I have seen it referenced on other posts here - and I can see why it's grown on you, j.  Not sure whether the Aquasport color names remained the same through the CCP production years.

Models to date are the 200, 22-2/222 and 250 - no 246 (or others?) yet.

Current locations generally reflect the company's primary areas of distribution at the time - from the Gulf Cost to the Northeast to the Great Lakes

One quirk in the Hull ID #s.   allen456's 1979 200 CCP and jdupree's 1981 200 CCP had Hull IDs that began with the manufacturer code of 'ASPP'.  GoneFission's 1980 22-2 CCP, built in the year between, shows a manufacturer code of 'ASPA'.

Alright, time for the rest of you CCP owners to step up :D - let's get this list goin'.  Year, actual model name, Hull ID #, a couple/few photos and any historical info on the CCPs in general or your specific hull.
