soul?
« on: August 25, 2008, 12:41:36 PM »
I've been reading alot of threads on people's rebuilds and I was wondering what exactly the "soul" is. Is that a layer between the stringers and the deck? or a different part of the structure of the hull?
Thanks
Chris

Hi love2fish, you must be talking about the sole, the sole is the floor of the boat

Sole = Deck, floor, false bottom, the part you walk on.  Makes me wonder what the genesis of the term is :?:

I believe sole comes from Greek "sola" which means bottom, like the sole of the foot.
