Here's the transom. It's raised about an inch, but otherwise it's the original shape. Not a good picture because it was still wet and the light reflection doesn't do the glass job justice.
We're going ol'school; two layers of 3/4" marine plywood for the transom. The stringers are coming along....we're laying up three layers of 1/2" marine plywood. Brien is definitely learning how to glass, which willd definitely be a benefit in the future!
The tank is ordered....41 gallons. The ol'above deck tank was 27 gallons, so a definite improvement.

We're still making progress; slowly but surely. We put in the two main stringers and tied them into the transom. Today we removed the old rub rail (wow, was that fun) and all the other hardware that was still on the boat. Still trying to remove the swim step so we can mend the cracks and remount it; thus far, swim step 1, Brien & Betsy 0.
Tomorrow we'll start the bulk heads. I added a picture of the outside of the transom as we plan to reglass it. Oh, the gas tank arrived last week(yeah!)!

The bulk heads are in and now that the weather is warming up we put the first coat of coal-tar paint on the tank. Haven't painted the bulkheads yet....waiting for it to warm up just a little bit more.
I've been hoping for some comments/suggestions as we proceed. Where is everyone? Maybe you could help with a few questions:
We're planning to pull the electrical, etc., under the floor from the console to the side close to the back. Obviously, since we didn't raise the transom significantly, I can't see how we can go straight back to the transom. Any ideas?
Also, should I fill in all the old rub rail mounting holes and put the new one in off set from the old holes? Or, is it okay to use the old holes? They're all 6" spacing (old and new).
Here's the gas tank. LOVE (not) working with that coal tar stuff!

Another question...
The boat currently has antifouling paint on the bottom. What's the pro's and con's regarding using antifouling paint for a "trailered" boat? Also, does the current paint have to be 100% removed or just sanded down? (will the chemicals in the antifouling paint bleed thru?)

I would take the bottom paint off if it is trailered. Besides beig ugly, it will slow the boat down and requires annual / bi-annual upkeep. Take it off while you're rebuilding!

What Richard said. Take it off.
My rebuild required me to fix a hook so after all the filling and fairing I coated the bottom with epoxy thickened with graphite. Very slick, very hard finish.

Sounds good, paint will go. I looked around a little for graphite; does it only come in black? If so, I'd prefer to go white.

MD - did you post anything up about the hook on this board? I feel like I missed that if you did... and if you did not, please do. The more knowledge on this board the better!

Progress! It was finally warm enough to open up the barn and put some foam down.....it took much longer than expected to put all the thru-holes in the floor boards, but we did get a lot done today!!! The tank is in and foamed, the bulkheads are foamed, the beneathe floor pvc for running wires, and the scupper box is made and in (I have no idea what this is really called) and the aft floor area is foamed and the first floor board is in. Yeah!!!
Also, finally got the dive step off. The step itself is in great shape, but the hull and step insert "box" is fairly stressed. The fittings were all brass and destroyed. We'll need to find a shop to machine a new set of hinges while we repair the hull.
Oh, during a slow moment, Brien built the leaning post. And yes, he educated me that graphite is black, period! My bad.
Picture......

Question. I'm starting to build the casting deck using marine plywood. Should I also fiberglass the underneath of the deck also, or is painting it with resin enough?/

On the bottom paint if you do not plan on leaving the boat in the water for more than a day or two max look at Pettit Easypoxy great stuff comes in many colors and three shades of white. I recently painted my bottom with the stuff can't say enough good things about it.

Thanks flkeysaqua, I'll look at the Easypoxy. I like the color "match" of your bottom paint to the rubrail. Very classy.
Our floor is completed; fiberglass to start this week. I haven't had input on the casting deck question, so to err on the side of caution, I'm going to put a layer of fiberglass on the underside also.
On a side note....last week it was in the 60's when we started the foaming and floor. The foam was easy to manage. Yesterday it was 84; OMG, what a difference in the foam activation!!!

Answer:
Yes, you need to put glass on the bottom, but you can use very light glass (6 or 8oz cloth is fine). If you do not, the resin can crack or "check", and water can get in.
I had a plethora of 1808 and used that, but it added a lot of weight and would not recommend it. Like everything else in my boat, it too was overbuilt.
