rod holder bungees
« on: July 16, 2008, 08:24:49 PM »
Any of you fine folks know where the little bungee loops which are on the side rod holders are available?  Mine are stretched out and need to be replaced.

Thank You!

Triple C,
I replaced mine with blue bungee from West Marine. I needed to drill additional holes and knot the ends but it doesn't look bad and works well. Mine have been in place since 96 and are still in good shape. I don't think you'll find exact replacements.
You could also try joining the bungee with a "hog ring" if you don't like the extra holes or knots.

I did the same thing as the Capt. when the rodholder bungees went South on account of being in the sun for years on end.  Went to the local West Marine, bought a few feet of the right thicknes bungee cord and hog-ringed the ends together.  I got the color red.  I, too, think I needed to drill the holes out a bit for the new cord to fit through.
