Gone, but not forgotten.
« on: May 22, 2008, 02:33:33 PM »
After a long 6 month winter, we touched up the bottom paint on the 87 222, we sanded and de-barnacled the motor bracket that sat in the water for 2 seasons with no antifouling and painted that up with Petit Alumaspray, then put the boat in the water, hit the key and the 2006 OptiMax 150 fired right up, that was nice, 2nd season in a row that I did it right.

We put the boat on my sisters dock and I walked away.  At least I know my brother in law is going to take care of it.  I was worried that he might be apathetic to the old girl (an 87 is not really old compared to the 70's era boats many of you have out there) but at least he knows that they cannot afford a new boat anytime soon and he'll do what I teach him to keep the boat/motor in good chuff.

Here is my Dad on his way to raft up to my boat, fenders out and all;

It was 3 years ago now that I found CA as we were in the midst of a repower decision and me having to do some minor rewiring and other minor things to restore the boat to like-new condition.  At least Memorial Day is here and it is finally my favorite season and that I'll be able to be out for 2 solid days of fishing and boating, hooray!
