Your draft is dependent mostly on surface area and weight distribution. You will find that a flatback will draft around the same as a lot of flats style boats. But is much harder to pole around because of size and weight, but then again any 22' flats boat isn't going to be easy to pole around. Apples to apples, a 22' flats boat vs. a 22' Flat back, you will probably get more bang for your buck with the flat back considering you can pick one up cheap. But dont compare a 16' flats boat to a 22' boat and expect a get a reasonable comparison. If your looking to go ultra shallow, buy a canoe or a small jon boat and get a semi-v aquasport. Best of both worlds.
