Bahi,

To all........ I am the new owner of the Bahi Vessel!!! I am also new to the site on the recommdations of Bahi.

What a fantastic site, thank you.

I can answer some of the old questions for you.....
 - The water in the hull came from the lower bung, as it had rusted and the screws had snapped and was only held on by the silicone!!!!!!!!!!

 - The Transom crack was only minor.... !!

Other than that the boat is wonderful.

It will look very different soon............????

I will continue to post updated pics of her so, you and all can see and HELP!!

Thank you for a beautiful vessel.

What a wondurful news about the hull & transom...you really made my day cos I loved this boat so much! From the very beginning, I felt that you are experienced and will take good care of her.

Welcome Poundbury!  It's good to hear we can maintain contact with an Aquasport owner on the other side of the world!  Bahi did some nice updates and work on your 170, and it sounds like you are continuing where he left off.   :D

There are a lot of 170 owners at ClassicAquasport, so feel free to ask any questions you've got - I'll bet you a pint of your favorite that someone can answer about anything (regarding the boat, that is).

Shoot some pics as you go and post them on the site - we all love to see boat shots, especially in action (running, fishing, cruising, jumping waves, etc.).

Welcome again and keep in touch!

Welcome aboard Poundbury.   :!:  :!:
Seems like just yesterday that boat was running on a 20+ degree angle because the previous owner to Bahi had slid everything to the rear of the boat.  Bahi squared that away and much more.
Sounds like you're carrying in the fine tradition of keeping a 170 alive.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.  Pics help us see what you're trying to explain so post a bunch.

Again, welcome aboard.

just remember not to mount the seat towards the stern too much.  You may end up with Bahi's original boat  :D
These boats are really, really weight sensitive in that aspect.

Cool!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers .............. I had a look at the previous pics and the marks on the deck!! The previous chap must have been mad!!!

The old console weighed 12.7kg so I have replaced with a light polyurethene so I can make more space between the console and seat! I have matched the old weight ratio of the old seat and console so there should be no effect.

Hopefully I will re-install the console this evening... so should have some pics!!

Please keep the advice coming!!!

Many thanks

Poundbury,

1) There are some few marine equipment shops in Doha. It took me sometimes to discover them & compare prices. Let me know, if you need some assistance.

2) In regards to the seat, take into consideration that it's not the weight of the seat which will go back only, but the weight of the two persons who will use it.    The space between the seat & the console is reasonable (I won't say perfect) , and I don't suggest that you play with it, especially that the scuppers are already below waterline. Maybe the new lighter seat would help the scuppers to go a bit up.

Keep up the good work... :salut:

Check out Poundbury's work in the Photo Gallery - boat's looking good!

Nice to see a 170 come out like that - especially on the other side of the world where parts, supplies, and work are probably not as easy as here.

Alpha-Bravo to AllCon.   :salut:
