Front Deck Compartment Hatch?
« on: April 02, 2008, 09:54:11 AM »
Does anyone know if they make a hatch that fits the dimensions of the deck compartment on the 71-222 flatback's floor?

I have the original hatch that lifts off of the compartment on the floor, but would like to replace it with a plastic hatch that latches shut and keeps more water out.  Any suggestions or threads that discuss redoing the compartment on the floor.  This is the compartment in front of the center console not on the casting deck.  Thanks!

I just did this on my 22-2CCP - I used an IPS 13x23 that just fit in the old hole (with some surprises - of course...).  The IPS hatch has a rubber gasket and nice hold-downs that work well.  I got it for less than $40 including shipping from Bluewater Marine's store on eBay - that's a deal!:

Here's how it looked installed:

Thanks, for your PM.  That looks nice.  My hole is 18" x 34".  I may just try to reglass the existing edges and keep the original door if I can't find a larger hatch.

Thanks, anyone else have any suggestions.
