Aquasport history - the mother lode!

Just wanted to let you know that yesterday I had an email from Dan Sargent, the son of Lennox Sargent, partner of Coburn and Sargent which built the first Aquasport in 1964! Lennox Sargent actually designed the original 22-2 modified vee flatback!
Dan and his brothers are willing to share their memories so I will be in contact with them in the coming days. What an opportunity!

Steve,
Thanks for your work on the history project. So far, it seems that you're pretty close to the mark. Thanks also for letting me share my personal memories with you. As I said, its truly gratifying to know that so many people are interested in Dad's old boats.

Hi Dan, Thanks for stopping by the site! My family has owned a 22'2" since it was new in 1976 and I started this site as a tribute to the great old Aquasport brand. Hopefully you'll be a frequent visitor! As you can tell, there are a ton of folks in love with your dad's boats!

Steve you never cease to amaze me. Good work.
There is a boat being made over in Tarpon Springs that is called a Sargent, and is supposed to be just like the old Aquasports. Is that coincidence or is it the same people?

Thanks for the hearty welcome!!
Its great to see so much of my past come alive in this forum. Seems like many of us are in Florida. Perhaps, down the road a gathering of aquasports would be fun??
Steve, I said that the original plant was on 15th street in Hialeah, my brother reminded me that it was on 18th street before moving to the plant on 72 ave.

Wilson, tell me more about these Sargent boats. I did a quick google and came up with nothing. I live in Tarpon Springs, that's why I was curious.

I really don't know anything. I just heard about them 2 weeks ago. Pete Palermo, over at Shumake's mentioned them to me.
I did a search too, and could find nothing.
I am pretty sure that he said Tarpon.
