can Interlux perfection be painted over gelcoat?
« on: October 12, 2007, 10:41:46 PM »
I will be painting an Aquasport 246 CCP with Interlux Perfection.

Will the gelcoat finish impede an interlux perfection paint job?

Regards,

Chris

Not as long as it is properly sanded and primed.

go to yachtpaint.com there is a video on Perfection.  Boaters World has an Interlux paint guide as well.
We sprayed "Interlux Brightside" and had great results.
You are going to have to clean with 202 solvent wash
sand with 180 to 220 grit paper
202 solvent wash again
prime kote make sure you use the right one  I think it is epoxy primekote
Then Perfection !
Good luck!
