Those little tunnel John Boats with jets will do that all day long. Add the Mud motor to it and you can walk over even less. A LOT of people in the Yankeetown area use this type rig.
My Banshee could follow that boat right over the ankle deep water, but only for 30-45 seconds as the water intakes are most decidedly out of the water. Sometimes I have to hop from pothole to pothole.

Not saying the box wont work, just saying you are much more likely to have cavitation issues with the square box method. I would definately say I would at least roll that front edge into the tunnel so it flows more naturally into the tunnel, the two sides having the sharp edges might help the boat to track better. Kind of trial and error really, no perfect way to build a tunnel. Looks like good progress anyways. Keep us posted on how it turns out.

Looks good, I've been with my buddy who has a house in Pine Island, and you boys fly around there where the grass is sticking out of the water. You go boy! Make sure you put a kill switch in that tower

The box under the tower is for the batteries and wiring since it's only gonna have an upper station for now. The box in the back really won't have much in it except the fuel filter, but it's gonna be a seat too.

The boats painted (awl-grip) inside and out. Aristo blue on the outside and cloud white inside. I get to start rigging it soon

Man that thing is slick! My problem when I paint one and get it looking like that I always autograph it here and there. What did the tunnel end up looking like?

Tunnel ended up good. I still have to paint it and part of the bottom. We sprayed as much of the sides and bow as we could without laying under it, and i'm gonna roll and tip the rest. I got my paralift mounted today. I'll get some pics of the transom up tomarrow.

So you live on Pine island? I used to live on Manasota Key in Sarasota Co. right above the Charlotte co. line. I miss that, being able to fish right in front of the house after work. My old girlfriend lived on Burnt store rd in Punta Gorda. Back in the sixties my great uncle bought about 200 acres on Pine island but he sold it. Man I wish I still had that!

I got the motor, swim platform, and stern eyes all mounted. I'm gonna run the 115 i had for now and eventually go to a 150. It's finally starting to shape up a little.
