Seastar or Baystar?
« on: September 28, 2007, 09:47:20 AM »
Question for you guys... as most of you may know, I have a 150 Suzu for my 222.  Wondering whether I should use a baystar steering system, or a seastar?  I have always had seastars, but curious as to whether there as any difference other than motor ratings?

You may want to check out a uflex system,  thats what I went with.  Have a sea star on the other boat.  The uflex looks to be built better.

I have Seastar on both of mine.  I bought it used when I put the 115 on the 170 - maybe a little over kill for the 115 but it's sure easy to turn. :D

It is my understanding that you would want to use the Seastar.

I have a Baystar on the 222 with a 2006 150 OptiMax, works just fine and it says that it can be used for motors up to 150 hp.  If it were me I'd save the money, it is the 2nd season now with it and no issues.
