Hard to believe this was what she looked like before -

What a transformation.  You gonna put the railing back on?

Right on, Rick, thanks for the kind words.

Rick, no, not putting the rail back.  My wife would like that, I just don't like the aesthetics or fishability.  The OEM factor is appetizing, though.

Paint is from Fiberglass Services, believe they are out of Sarasota.  Check with Bayside to be sure.  That color is a custom color from a major manufacturer, I had to get permisssion to use it.

Homemade? Yes.  Stainless?  No Way!

That's that old silver/aluminum rustoleum.  I applied gallons of that stuff for my dad when I was a kid.  We were too poor to afford to have a trailer galvanized.  Child labor was cheap and the paint was available.

Humm, might explain my ADD.

My dad used to build those old style tilting pipe trailers in the 60's & 70's.  His were popular because he built them old drill stem pipe and mounted spindles and hubs that matched the tow vehicle.

Mad Dog,

You better check again  :P .....that was all Stainless Steel (except the spindles, winch, bunks, rims and ball hitch). I was the owner and tried selling it for $300.00. Nobody wanted it so I stripped it down and sold it for scrap @ $1.50LB.....$724.00 later I was happy it was SS!

I wish I could get out.  Some kind of bug slapped me down Monday night.  I got a shot in the butt and two prescriptions Tuesday and just now am starting to feel better.

Hope you had a good day on the water.

I started the 230 yesterday - closest I got to using it.  Took the 170 out last weekend - tore the trout up - too bad they're out of season now

What are you doing for a trailer UT2?  Looked like the one in the pix was a shop trailer.

Rick, if memory serves I think I put up a photo of my trailer on this thread.  It's working out great.
I still have to get a final photo spread up here.  I have all the photos just want to sort it all proper first.
Dunno about you guys but this is working out to be a hectic beginning of the year.

Yeah, I don't need to see that damned trailer again - especially for the price you paid.

I paid $1,400 for mine and I knew it needed a brake job!

How much water does it draft?
« Reply #74 on: March 04, 2008, 05:50:58 PM »
Did closing the transom adding porta-bracket change the draft much?

I'm thinking of doing mine but I'm afraid of the extra weight.
