The prep work is 90+ % done.  Just about time to paint, rig, power and get the girl on the water.  The plan is to have her out for maiden run January 9th.  I'll beat the crap out of her that day to see if anything needs tidying up, cuz I start my 9 day vacation January 12th and plan to be on the boat at least 7 days weather permitting.  Anyone want some grouper filets???

These photos are of the boat still in the grinding/fairing stages, not too exciting but we're almost there

Shot of the tranny, ready for the Porta and some paint!!

This shot shows the quality of the fairing work.  That cap is as smooth as silk, incredible considering the condition it was in 4 months ago.

This one shows the starboard side of the tranny and deck, damn near ready to be shot.  The rear center box holds the pumps for the Porta and the Bennetts and provides maximum room for fishing off the stern both sides.

One from the bow, all ready to be shot.

Another one of the deck and cap, sanded and nearly ready for paint.

That's it for now.  The next set of photos will have PAINT!!  I chose "Bahia Honda" green for the hull and a light cream color for the interior.  Pretty much the same interior color as Mike.
High hopes that you all are getting ready to enjoy a great holiday season.  Wish you all the best!!

You have a paint sample to share?  I have been leaning toward green and looking for a good hue... I already have mine in mind... but do not have a name.

Rich-

Go here, crappy scan I did for that particular thread but you can see the hue.

http://www.classicaquasport.com/forum/v ... sc&start=0

It's called "Bahia Honda" green and was conceived with the thought of Bay Area water color.  I would really like baby blue, but there's a few out there already and I just gotta be me.  SWEET color for an AS 22-2 though....perfect compliment IMHO.  But, I really like this green too.

Update!!

Just got off the phone with Will, they are double-timing it to get to the finish line.  I wish I could be there for a little while every day now until next Wednesday but I gotta work and Will is closed down for visitors.  I was glad to hear that because Will is totally cordial and visitors get his full attention and time.  They will certainly need a full court press to get my 22-2 done by next Wednesday.  I think they'll be emailing me some photos I will post those as quickly as I can.

So, again, the plan is that she's done next Wednesday and we do a maiden run/troublefinder excursion.  Back to the shop the 10th and the 11th for touch-up and then I am on vacation the 12-20th.  I got my best buddy coming in town from New Orleans to help me properly break her in that week, etc. etc.   VERY excited at this point....

Merry New Year to all, see you on the water soon.

I can't wait to see her.  It's been really nice weather lately too.  Every morning when I run over the Howard Franklin to work and see a flat bay, I get more excited.

Mine is still coming along, slowly, which is ok, I'm patient and have no deadlines …..yet.

Well, whatever has been going around got me Tuesday night late and I woke up yesterday so sick I couldn't move.  Will called and we decided that he will take her out today for any troubleshooting and then I pick her up Saturday and away we go.
This is how my luck goes, ALWAYS...but, on the bright side, Saturday I get her and am on vacation for 9 days with the boat.
Ludicrous amount of pix to come..

Sorry dudes been a crazy, busy week.  The weather really has not permitted me to take her out yet, proper like.  Tried Sunday @ Anclote totally fogged up.
Also some ISP broadband issues, they are now fixed.

Got her Saturday, still sick, feelin' like total crap, however still very utterly stoked.

Rolled around the corner to Will's shop and saw this for the first time:

This shot sums it all up for me.  She's a beaut!:

So far I know:  1.  She will top out at 43-45 with me in the boat totally trimmed out WOT.  2.  With tabs fully down she's on plane at 9 mph if so desired.  3.  She cuts thru chop like nobody's business.  4.  No fuel consumption #'s yet, but, it  looks real good so far..:

Her Resurrector and me, pulling in from a very short, cold maiden run.  I have a 99.8 fever....:

Celebratory crawfish boil last night, good times, waiting for better weather:

I might wait until after her follow-up visit to do a full photo blast.  We got behind the 8-ball a little to make the deadline and she needs still a bit of fit and finish follow-up and some ends tidying up.  Will has asked to have her back in the shop after I enjoy her this week.

Still hasn't settled in yet.  Very proud to own this boat.  My covered parking spot sold out from underneath me, scrambling to find a spot until the portable garage gets delivered.

More soon.  Mike, can't wait to see your final outcome...
