Fall '07 Get-together
«

August 06, 2007, 05:12:02 PM »
Hi all, can you believe it, it's time to start planning our next get-together already. The last one was a lot of fun. I had the added fun of camping the night before and after so it just made it that much more enjoyable.
Rich and Mike, will you be ready for the badges I still have from Jim?
Rich, any progress on the shirts/hats?
I'm thinking end of Oct or early Nov but would like to here from you guys for any preferences and locations. I'm ok with Shell Beach/Key again but would like to hear other options as long as it's not much farther north.
Also, if someone else wants to drive this train, I'm ok with that too
but then I'm ok with putting it together again.
This gives us plenty of time.
I'm going to make this a "sticky" so it'll stay at the top where we can find it easy.

I think I am open all weekends other than Veteran's Day. I will show up again via land route... unless I can get my deck done, cap, paint, rigging... oh well.

We'll definitely have the get-together on a Saturday - Veterans day is a Sunday - are you still available on the 10th?
Here are the Saturdays:
Oct 20, 27
Nov 3, 10, 17
I guess it is time for the poll again.

Hopefully I'll have mine in the water by then and we can Christen her into the Classic Aquasport floatilla :P
As long as it's a saturday and not a football sunday, i'm good on any of those dates.

Will I'm open for any of those dates but with the cold fronts that start moving in at that time of the year my .02 would pick Oct 20, 27th or Nov 03. The Shell Key area is good or up the bay what ever will bring more boats or people to this great event that Rick puts on for us.

Yup, 4 miles north, just north of Ft. Desoto Park. Don't know if we'll end up having it there or not with all the hoopla going on about it. It'll be in the general area though.
If anyone has any ideas about another place close to this area, I'm all ears.

My AS may not be ready til mid November but I'll show if you guys can stomach the Ranger. Obviously I'd throw a vote for November.
Shell or any DeSoto is good. You guys ever consider 3-Rooker? Anclote ramp is a little sketchy on Saturdays, though. But, it's free.
I have never been disturbed 1 time @ 3-Rooker by CG or MP...

Post a google-earth map of the area or something to let me know where you're talking about.
Just don't want to go too far north since we're towing from Sarasota and DOCREED is farther south than me.

3 Rookers is FAR... it's nearly in Tarpon Springs. Not that I care, I don't have a boat!
Jim- you coming again? Let's set you up in TPA if you decide to...

Looks like most everyone that is going will be coming from the South (of Tampa), therefore DeSoto will probably be best. I can yahoo map it and post it here if you still want but, yes, it is damn near Tarpon Springs.
