Lights Help!
« on: July 12, 2007, 09:37:58 PM »
Hi!  have a 1995   aquasport  a 175 and I need some advice. I want to put a set of small 12 volt driving lights on my center console but I can't get the wiring right. I have them mounted to the hand rail over the wind shield  I have three wires to the switch that they came with. Coming off the switch is the hot and a ground. The hot  no problem ! I just don't know were to ground to? Could any one kind of give me a hint. I would be most great full if you can. Thanks goodhookin1  :(

You should have a grounding block that is wired to the negative terminal somewhere. Wire the ground to that : less wire.

Yep, negative can go to a terminal strip or battery ground, but make sure you put a fuse or circuit breaker between the hot lead and the switch.  You can run the wires through the rails if you want - makes for a cleaner installation.
