Damn marine terms.
I'll remember that the next time someone "fends" into me.

Mike, don't forget your FENDERS  :!:

Slowly she comes together!

Starting to mount some hardware, lights and rub rail.

I know i probally defeated the purpose of the actual rub rail by getting one with a stainless insert but damn, it looks nice!  8)

I decided to paint the console and bait well the same color as the outside of the boat.

I'm playing around with photoshop trying to get a feel for the lettering color and position.  Ultimately I'm not going to use this font, it will be in the classic Aquasport font.
What do ya'll think on color?

Here's some more really bad photoshopping but I'm trying to get an idea of the console layout.

Very nice.  That color is striking.  Once you add the accessories, power and electronics she is going to tie together nicely.
Can't help but think that a white Etec would look awesome on that boat.  I don't remember what you have for power as I type this?  Hopefully its a whtie Etec.
I like the broken up bow lights recessed, nice touch.  Classic.
I hear ya on the rubrail.  Hopefully your guy and Will can replace those cheaply once we ding them up real good.
Coming along nice, can't wait to see her done.

Where did you get those running lights ?  I have those on my boat but they don't work and I put running lights on my tower.  I am going to paint my boat soon and was going to get rid of them, but if I can replace them I would rather do that than patch to holes.  Besides, I really like the looks of them.

Are they LED ?

Color looks sweet. Reminds me of the big scarab at one of the boat shows i went to, it had the engine cowling painted too.

Boaters world should have the running lights. If not look online, there easily found.

Hey Steve, Yea an Etec would look really nice hanging off her but way too expensive for my budget!
I've got a 2005 175 Optimax.  Black engine with blue lettering
I found a place that makes Mercury replacement decals in most any color. Since the Porta Bracket is silver (like yours) I've ordered silver lettering for the engine cover to replace the blue.

Palmettofishing, I got the sharkeye running lights off of Ebay, i think its the same ones that Slippery73 found in his reply. They are not LEDs.

Mike - why didn't you have them do RED lettering on the motor?

Silver will look nice too...

Man, that Porta looks familiar...

Mike, tell them to hurry up so we can sport out boats around and make people jealous.

We are gonna have a good showing at the March gathering, lots of new boats.

Looking good Mike - the next gathering will probably be end of April "ish". Hopefully the boat will be done by then

So she's finally rigged with electronics.  :D

This week we mounted the motor and tried to start it up for the first time.
Good news is that the motor started right up.  :P
Bad news is that it runs like sh%t! Maybe gunked up fuel injectors ... I hope.
All cylinders have 125-127lbs. Changed out the plugs, still sounds like its running on only a few cylinders.
I’m going to bring it into Pipers Marine on Tuesday to hook it up to a computer diag and see what’s going on.

Besides that, everything looks and works great!
I still have the T-top to modify to the console and leaning post to mount but besides that only a few small things to finish up.

She’ll be at the next gathering even if I have to paddle out to it!

Here’s some more boat porn;
